Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of the Bulgarian Society of lung diseases I am pleased to have been your host in the Third Congress of the Bulgarian Society of lung diseases, which was held in Congress Center Novotel Plovdiv from 03 to 06 June 2010. The Bulgarian Respiratory community had the honor and privilege to meet you for those few days in our beautiful country and the ancient Plovdiv.

Bulgarian Society of lung diseases (BDBB) is the official representative body of the Bulgarian lung physicians, thoracic surgeons, doctors and nurses involved in respiratory medicine. Aim of the congress was to provide space for discussion on the problems of respiratory medicine known national speakers and recognized international experts. For the first time this congress (03 – 06 June) will provide the delegates general practitioners and graduate-pulmonologists to take part in sessions to increase their level of qualification. At these sessions, lectures on basic problems of pulmonary pathology were delivered by leading Bulgarian specialists and lecturers from abroad.

Plovdiv is a unique city that carries the spirit of the ancient times, the impact of the beautiful nature and inspiration of modern culture. Each new encounter with it new opportunities for personal discovery in an inexhaustible treasure.
